New Luxury Sublime Baby Knitting Patterns and Kits!

Sirdar has just released two fabulous new Sublime baby knitting pattern books - The fifth and sixth little sublime knitting books.  These patterns are designed for the Sublime baby cashmere merino silk DK (8ply) yarn.  The two books are available now and the yarn will be in stock from the 19th of May.

We are introducing baby knitting kits to our shopping cart this season starting with the Posh pink shoes knitting kit and the Vintage Duffle knitting kit (picture below).  The kits come in a variety of options with all kits offering our knitters at least 10% off the price of the pattern book.  The complete kits are packed in a great little carry bag with everything needed to knit the garment - including matching buttons!  A perfect gift for the knitter in your family.

NEW DESIGN - Lamb Fingerless Glove Knitting Kit

These quick to knit gloves are perfect for chilly morning train rides.  Knitted in the round on double pointed needles there are an intermediate level project but with just 40 rounds per glove it could inspire a few beginners to learn circular knitting. Kit includes yarn, easy to following knitting pattern and plastic glitter double pointed needles.

Just as the cooler weather arrives in Melbourne we are starting the roll out of our Winter 2010 knitting design collection.  To get your needles clicking away again we have just added a beginners knit weekend project to our store - Retro Neckwarmer Kit - with a jumbo button, easy-to-follow knitting pattern, sewing needle and optional knitting needles included.  Watch out for more of our unique designs coming soon.....

New Heirloom Naturals Yarn

The new Naturals range of natural knitting yarns from Australian yarn company - Heirloom - gives you a unique selection of non dyed natural coloured wool.  Each different yarn is named after the sheep breed and includes Black Welsh, Andorra Bluefaced Leicester, Dark Herdwick, Grey Masham, Manx Loughtan, Sienna Bluefaced Leicester and Swaledale.

Changes to our website

We have made some changes to our website to help enhance your experience at The Thread Room.  The first is a new home page design to make it easier for you find our most recent designs and yarns. We have also added a few new currencies so that you can now shop in US Dollars, British Pounds and Euros in addition to Australian Dollars.  We recently introduced flat rate $8 Australia wide shipping.  We no longer offer express post as a shipping option. However, all Australian orders over $100 will be sent via express post.

Our upgraded software also makes it simple to share a page with your friends via email, Twitter, Facebook and several other social networking sites.  The Thread Room has also just started our own Facebook and Twitter pages where we will post more regular news about designs we are working on and other news aroung the knitting, crochet and felting circuits.  Watch out for our new Knitting and Crochet How to videos coming soon....

Addi Click - New 6.5mm Tip size

Addi has just released another new 6.5mm tip size to add to your Addi Click interchangeable circular needle set in a 6.5mm size.  In addition to the recently introduced 3.75mm tip you now have a total of 12 tip sizes to choose from with the Addi Click system.

NEW 20cm long Addi Circular Knitting Needles

We have just received a delivery from Germany with the new 20cm addi circular knitting needles.  These new circulars are the world's smallest circular knitting needles and have an extra short point to make knitting socks, mittens and other small circular projects a breeze.  Available in sizes 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.25mm, 3.5mm and 3.75mm.  We offer free postage Australian wide on our entire Addi product range.  Wholesale enquiries also welcome.
